How to Claim
Our Benefits Calculator gives you an instant estimate of the help you may get with your rent or Council Tax. If you haven't claimed Universal Credit or Pension Credits, the calculator can also tell you how much help you may get from these payments. These calculations are only an estimate based on the information you supply.
You can make a claim in one of the following ways:
Housing Benefit
Housing Benefit is only available to Pensioners and people in certain types of accommodation. If you would like to claim Housing Benefit, please contact our offices for further advice.
An application via email
Please email our Benefits team on benefits@fareham.gov.uk giving a brief outline as to your present circumstances, full name, address, contact number and reason for claim.
Over the phone with one of our Benefit advisors
If you are unable to contact us by email, please call our Benefits team on 01329 824646 where you will be asked to leave a message. Please state the reason for your call, providing your name, address and contact number. We will endeavour to call you back to assist you in making your claim.
At your home
We offer a home visiting service if you are unable to complete an application over the phone or you are unable to come into the Council Offices because you are ill or disabled. Please call us to discuss on 01329 824646, leave a message and we will get back to you.
Council Tax Support
If you are in receipt of Universal Credit, you can apply online here.
If you do not receive Universal Credit, please contact our offices as outlined above for further advice.
In each of the above cases, your claim can only be paid once all of the information that is requested of you is received. Any delay in submitting the necessary information may hold up the assessment process.
