Seats and benches

There are over 600 seats and benches across the Borough which are maintained by the Streetscene team.

The Council operates a scheme for people or organisations to donate a new seat or adopt an existing one to commemorate a loved one. 

Donating a seat

We will buy, install and maintain a seat on your behalf. It will have an engraved plaque, inscribed with words of your choice. We recommend 60-80 characters not including spaces. The current cost of this is £2,031.00.

Adopting a seat

We will refurbish, where necessary, an existing seat on your behalf. It will have an engraved plaque, inscribed with words of your choice. We recommend 60-80 characters not including spaces. The current cost of this option is £537.00.

Where

Seats under this scheme can only be donated or adopted on land owned by Fareham Borough Council. If you are unsure about any land please contact our Public Spaces Team on 01329 236100 or publicspacesfrontline@fareham.gov.uk.

Please be aware that the following locations are at maximum capacity and can no longer take any requests for benches: Meon Shore, Cliff Road and Salterns Promenade. Please try to request locations other than this to ensure that your application is successful.
