Menu of involvement opportunities
We have many ways you can get involved and at a level that suits you, to ensure there is something for everyone! You can also choose how you get involved, whether that be online, in person or over the phone.
Tenant Advisory Group (TAG)
The overarching role of the Tenant Advisory Group is to hold Fareham Borough Council Housing to account. The purpose of the TAG will be to scrutinise and monitor the Council's services, decisions and performance.
The group will be required to provide an annual report to the Housing Scrutiny Panel and will invite Housing Management Officers and Housing Scutiny Panel Members to meet and hear their recommendations.
- Terms of Office and Recruitment are currently being developed with involved members. Membership is still open but limited in number.
- Members will meet every quarter, the first meeting was held in January 2025.
1. Join a project group
This is an opportunity to be involved in improving housing services for all tenants. Have your say and be involved in monitoring, scrutinising, and shaping Fareham Housing's services and policies.
This requires a greater deal of commitment. At this level you will be required to attend workshops or regular sessions for the duration of a specific project.
Guided by the Consumer Standards, topics can include:
- Policies and procedures
- Contract monitoring
- Procurement
- Service improvement
- Repairs and maintenance
- Community (safety, neighbourhood developement etc).
- Information and communication
2. Become a volunteer
Make a difference by representing your local community. If you have ideas about improving where you live and are happy to be a link between Fareham Housing and your neighbourhood, this could be for you.
This requires a fair level of commitment. You will be enhancing your own skills with appropriate training and developing relationships with others in the community.
Ways to volunteer include:
- Street and block representatives
- Estate monitoring
- Training
3. Stay informed
Interested in staying up to date with Fareham Housing and can provide feedback on our services?
This requires a light level of commitment, providing feedback on an ad hoc basis. Just by engaging with us on this level you can help us improve.
This could include:
- Surveys
- Ad hoc focus groups
- Pop up events
- General community meetings
- Service information
Is there a specific area, policy or service that you would like to focus on?
