Offers of accommodation
The Government created a sponsorship scheme to allow people to welcome Ukrainians into their homes.
The Homes for Ukraine Scheme is designed to support Ukrainians with no ties to the UK. This scheme is currently focused on private individuals offering accommodation through a sponsorship scheme.
If you are interested in providing housing for refugees, please follow the links above and contact Hampshire County Council.
For Ukrainians who are already in the UK, there are the following 2 options available:
- to extend your current visa
- to switch to a different visa
Ukraine Extension Scheme
This scheme is now only open with effect from the 16th of May 2024 for children who are born in the UK. You can apply for your child to have permission under the Ukraine Extension Scheme if both of the following is true:
- you have permission to be in the UK under one of the Ukraine Schemes (including the Ukraine Family Scheme)
- your child was born in the UK
This route does not require a UK-based sponsor.
Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme
If you have been given permission to be in the UK under one of the Ukraine Schemes, you may be able to apply for a further 18 months permission to stay in the UK under the new Ukraine Permission Extension scheme. You'll be able to apply 3 months before your existing visa is due to expire.
