Get out in the woods for National Play Day
A National Play Day event will take place on Wednesday 2 August at Holly Hill Woodland Park from 10am-2pm.
The event is one of hundreds taking place across the UK aiming to celebrate the importance of play in children's lives.
Children will get the chance to:
- Play Forest music
- Build their very own den
- Toast marshmallows on the camp fire
- Make a forest key ring to take home
- Create forest arts and crafts
- Make a spiral bird feeder
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: "This event is hugely popular with families and is a great day out. Lots of people bring a picnic for the day to enjoy the setting of Holly Hill whilst getting involved with the fun activities on offer."
The event is for children aged 11 and under. Adults must stay with children at all times.
Tickets must be booked in advance and cost £2 per child. Adults go free. Maximum 6 children per booking. Entry times will be phased.
