Council steps up plans to secure Welborne delivery partner

Fareham Borough Council has set the wheels in motion to find the right delivery partner to build Welborne Garden Village by publishing a Prior Information Notice.

A Prior Information Notice signals the Council's intention to start the formal tender process to identify the right delivery partner for Welborne.  The partner will have a strong track record of creating large residential projects as great places to live.  The aim is to appoint a delivery partner by the end of 2017.

The Prior Information Notice was published on Friday 6th January.

In an announcement to the Council's Executive on Monday 9th January, Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward said: 'The Council is progressing its delivery strategy for Welborne.  Welborne was confirmed as having Garden Village status on 2nd January and the Council has now published a Prior Information Notice setting out its intention to appoint a delivery partner for Welborne.  Having undertaken some 'soft market testing' this is the next stage in the process before the Council starts a formal procurement process to find a delivery partner.  A key requirement for that partner will be to show a demonstrable track record in delivering the place-making and infrastructure required to realise Welborne Garden Village'.
