Fareham Park

With the help of Architect consultants Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, we have developed a programme of improvements to transform the community and leisure facilities next to Henry Cort Drive. This project area is now known as Fareham Park following a popular public vote.

You can find the location of Fareham Park here

The Vision

With the help of the community, we have developed a vision for new improved community and leisure facilities for this area PDF (5 MB), able to respond to needs for locally-based activities, and support the work of our crucial local organisations.

Project Phases

The Project is being delivered in 3 Phases.  Phase 1, the development of inspirational play facilities that meet the needs of all ages and abilities, has been completed.

We are currently on Phase 2, which focuses on designing and building the new community centre and petanque terrain.  This is a very complicated process, involving a lot of thought around car parking, drainage and ecological improvements.  For this reason, it is likely to be at least 3 years before the completion of Phase 2.

Phase 3 will see the ground that housed the existing community centre being re-purposed for affordable housing.  This will only happen once the new community facilities are completed and will be subject to Planning processes.

Funding for the project

£700,000 from the Government's UK Shared Prosperity fund has been allocated to help deliver the Masterplan and Phase 1 of this project.

We are exploring options for more external funding to be able to provide the community centre and facilities and have secured a bid writer to help us do this.
