Referal Details
This page allows you to refer a case of suspected fraud to us. Before you do, please consider the following carefully:
Could the person you suspect, be acting quite legitimately?
Do you genuinely believe someone is committing fraud?
If you do, then please give us as much information as possible.
Any information that you do provide, is treated in the strictest confidence, you do not have to leave your contact details.
If you do leave your contact details, then this information will also be treated in the strictest of confidence. We may contact you in order to ask for more information or to clarify certain points.

What is the name of the person: Please give the name(s) in full if you know them
What is their address?: Please give the full address if you know it.
What do you think they are doing?:
Please give as much detail as you can. For example, if you believe they are living with an undeclared partner or other person living in the house, please tell us their name. If you believe they are working please tell us details of any employer or names on a vehicle that may be involved (such as a works van). If you are alleging that someone has capital that may not be declared please tell us why you think this, do you have any details of bank accounts or an idea of where the money may have come from?
Do they drive?:
Tell us about the type of car they drive, what make or model is it, what colour is it, what is the registration and where is it normally parked?
Can you describe the person?:
Try and describe the person as best you can. Please tell us their age, height, build and any distinguishing features.
Is there anything else you want to tell us?:
For example can you tell us if there is a routine of when a person leaves/arrives at the property. Are there any routes that are being used when leaving/arriving at the property such as using a back door instead of the front door. Is the person trying to ensure they are not seen by parking elsewhere in the vicinity.

Thank you for the information you have provided. All referrals are taken seriously but not always followed up if we don't have enough information and it might be that we need to clarify some points. If you can provide us with a contact number your details will be kept in the strictest of confidence.
How will we use your personal information?
The information gathered in this form may constitute personal data as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998. Any personal data that you provide will be processed in accordance with that act for the purpose of investigating your fraud report and preventing and detecting crime and disorder. Your information will not be used for any other purpose.
Your details will not be disclosed to any other parties, including outside individuals or bodies without your permission. Your details may be passed to other council departments to help with investigations. The Council will retain the information for a period not exceeding 5 years.
