Parking for disabled people
If you are a blue badge holder, you can park free in all pay and display car parks (including coastal car parks) by clearly displaying your badge in your parked vehicle, with the valid serial number and expiry date clearly visible.
Pay on foot car parks (Fareham Shopping Centre multi-storey and Market Quay) are only free to Blue Badge holders who are resident in the Borough of Fareham and have applied for free parking (see below for details). Once accepted onto the system, your vehicle details wlll be registered for automatic number plate recognition so the barriers will automatically raise when entering or leaving the car park.
To apply for free parking in pay on foot car parks as a resident of the Borough of Fareham
Complete the pay on foot access application form (587 KB) and submit it to us along with a copy of both sides of the Blue Badge, as well as, one of the following to as proof of address:
- A utility bill, mobile phone bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months
- A Doctor's prescription dated within the last 3 months
- An official letter from an agency e.g. the Council, Inland Revenue, Benefits Agency etc. dated within the last 3 months.
How do I provide the application form and proof?
To submit the form and proof of address you can either:
- Attach the files to an email and send to parkingservices@fareham.gov.uk
- Visit the Customer Service Centre at the Civic Offices
- Post your completed form and a copy of your proof to: Parking Services, Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ.
Please note: Proof of address is required to support your first application and any future renewal when your Blue Badge expires. Your vehicle registration may take up to 48 hours to be added to the car parking system. Further terms and conditions can be found in the conditions of use (536 KB) document.
To apply/review/replace as a carer
As a carer, you will need to provide the following:
- Blue badge
- Proof of the blue badge holder's address - see guidelines above
- Authorisation from the blue badge holder that you can collect it on their behalf.
