The Planning Portal

We continually review and improve our planning service. As part of this, we are working with an external planning body known as 'The Planning Portal' .  This provides an additional source of guidance and information about the planning system as well as facilities for study/research and up-to-date news for the planning process.

The Guide : Use their guides and the 'Common Projects' links to find guidance on the building work you have in mind. Check other important matters you should think about before starting work in the 'Your responsibilities' section. When you have read and considered the guidance around whether or not you need planning permission or building control approval you can find out 'What to do next' using their links.

Applications Online : You can use this link to start an application online. Once you have you will need to register with the planning portal and create a user name and password. You can use the portal's online applications service to buy a site location plan to accompany your application.  You can also pay the application fee online through the portal using a company called WorldPay.

Applications by Post:  In this section you can create paper applications for Fareham Borough Council and submit them by post.

Decisions:  In this section you can find out about 'The decision making process'.
