Fareham High Street

Fareham High Street was designated a conservation Area in 1969 and was recognised as being of outstanding architectural and historic interest in 1977. The area comprises the historic core of the town. It includes St Peter and St Paul's Church, the Churchyard, High Street, with its medieval burgage plot layout, Union Street and parts of Wickham Road, West and East Street. It also includes the western slope and part of the floor of the Wallington river valley. The conservation area was extended to include part of the Wallington river valley in 1980.
