Introduction to Planning Strategy
The purpose of Planning Strategy is to provide local planning policies which guide planning applications and planning decisions, and through the Local Plan provide for future development in Fareham. The planning documents that we prepare are concerned with the provision of housing, floorspace for employment, new and improved community and leisure facilities, planning infrastructure provision and ensuring that the natural and historic environment is appropriately protected.

Planning Strategy Database
The Planning Strategy team have a consultation database which is used to notify organisations and individuals who have expressed an interest in being kept informed at key stages of the production of planning documents such as the Draft Local Plan, Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) and Neighbourhood Plans. We use this database to consult on the production of new documents or updates to existing planning documents, in accordance with the methods as set out in our Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).
You can sign up to our database by completing the online form. Your information will be held securely and used only for the purpose of planning consultations and will not be shared with any other parties without first obtaining your consent.
