Where can you buy a food digester?

Food waste digesters can be bought online as part of the Fareham Borough Council and getcomposting.com offer. Both Green Cones  and Green Johannas  are available.

What can you put in a food digester?

A Green Cone can take all food waste including meat, bones, fish and dairy products. The waste breaks down into water and nutrients which dissipate into the surrounding soil. They cannot take garden waste and do not produce compost.

A Green Johanna also takes all food waste including meat, bones, fish and dairy products but must have garden waste put in. It produces rich compost for the garden.
 

The Green Cone must go in a sunny spot, the Green Johanna in the shade.
