Shopping Experience

Many of the shop fronts in Portchester precinct and along the main pedestrian walkways look outdated. Whilst some businesses have a few tables and chairs outside, more could be done to help create a café culture and add vibrancy to the area. 

In order to improve the shopping experience, we would like to:

• Work together with local businesses and traders to make changes to the precinct
• Engage with key partners to look at how the shop fronts and canopies can be updated and modernised
• Some new housing could also help improve the appearance of shop fronts
• Introduce more outdoor seating, tables and chairs to make it more vibrant
